HUNKERING DOWN

We're having the damnest weather!

Due to some horrendous storms (temps in the 70's and severe thunderstorms and flooding in January?), we've lost internet three times. I'm beating a judicious retreat rather than fight to get up the planned blog for tomorrow.

We've got rivers instead of roads and lakes instead of hay fields and an icy cold front moving in behind it all this. Temps were 72 at 2:00 this afternoon but it's 55 degrees right now(8:30 pm) and supposed to drop to 38 degrees before morning. More rain turning to sleet and snow to follow, or so they say. Aren't we so special? Can you imagine what the roads will be like when they freeze? Ugh.

Although I got all the animals fed and winterized I wasn't expect quite so much rain, strong winds, lightning and thunder. I have a dog who likes to dig to China on a regular basis because he likes to sleep in holes--I kid you not. With more rain and standing water than we expected, Hubs and I were out in the downpour trenching his dog pen so the dog house wouldn't flood. Silly dog. He's a chow/retriever mix.

I'll have a new blog post for Friday.

Have a great Wednesday!

Hi Sia .. love the way you wrote this .. and the weather is incredibly challenging at the moment - we're in a 'warmer' patch .. lots of rain and wind ... who knows what follows - except the sun will rise earlier as sure as the day is long!!

See you on your return and your dog - well that beggars belief!! Cheers Hilary

Epic weather this year! Yes, hunker down with a cup of your favorite beverage and a good book. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I'm in shorts right now waiting for my weather to hit. Tornadoes, monsoons, and lightning. yay. Then like yours, it's supposed to drop to freezing tomorrow.

Hunker down. Hope the dog is okay.

I've got the flip side this morning.. I just saw the most amazing rainbow! In January- have you ever heard of such a thing?

Hope it all works out and not as bad as your feared. I almost feel guilty for being in shorts and complaining about not so much as a drop of rain for weeks. It's quite windy here today, but in the 80s. Sending warm winds your way!

Stay safe! We're getting socked with bad weather tonight. And it was in the upper seventies today. In JANUARY!

Us too, all our thick snow was rained on constantly so has disappeared, its much warmer, but tomorrow we are supposed to get more snow, maybe a couple of inches. Hope things buck up for your area Sia, difficult for all the animals too.
